Measuring in metres with the Hexagons

This week Mr. King took the Hexagons maths group and they looked at measuring things using centimetres, millimetres and metres. Today they used big 30 and 50 metre measuring tapes to measure the length of the rugby field, the length of the swimming pool and the depth of the swimming pool. We all had so much fun learning how to measure long lengths in metres!

They discovered that the length of the rugby field was about 55 metres.

The length of the swimming pool was about 18 metres and the depth of the pool was just over 1 metre.
