We're Learning to be Firewise

In the last week of school we were learning to be firewise. The Firefighters from Takapuna Fire Station came and talked to us about how to be safe around fires.

In class we were talking about
1. Different types of fires and how to be safe around them.
2. Every family should have an escape plan.
3. Families should have a safe meeting place somewhere outside the house.
4. We should have smoke alarms in our house.
5. We should dial 111 in an emergency only.

Look at the pictures below. Discuss with someone in your family the different types of fires there are and how you can be safe around these fires.....

Callum's snail labelling

Today Callum labelled some special parts of a snail using Kid Pix. He first took a photo of the snail using the class camera.
Great photo and great labelling Callum.

Our School Assembly

Yesterday Room 14 and Room 11 hosted the full school assembly. We decided to make the theme minibeasts as we had been learning about them during the term. We learned many things like: being patient, co-operating, listening to each other, learning lines to say, entering and exiting the stage at the right time and being proud of ourselves!
Thank you Room 11 our buddy class for helping us, you were all awesome!
