In the last week of school we were learning to be firewise. The Firefighters from Takapuna Fire Station came and talked to us about how to be safe around fires.
In class we were talking about 1. Different types of fires and how to be safe around them.
2. Every family should have an escape plan.
3. Families should have a safe meeting place somewhere outside the house.
4. We should have smoke alarms in our house.
5. We should dial 111 in an emergency only.
Look at the pictures below. Discuss with someone in your family the different types of fires there are and how you can be safe around these fires.....

I learned that everyone should have a smoke alarm in their house and a safe meeting place.
